A colina dos 16 santuários / Ifa & Alaafin / Iyake o lago suspenso

“A colina em ADO foi descoberta em torno de 1500 DC por um Príncipe de Oyo chamado Obakoyi.

Ado-Awaye é uma das cidades antigas da província de Ekun Otun, no antigo Império Oyo.

A colina de Ado é única devido ao lago suspenso que é o único na África. Este lago pendurado é conhecido como 'Iyake' e há 16 santuários naturais na colina em Ado sendo cultuada por várias pessoas.

Os 16 santuários naturais são conhecidos como ISAGE, IYALARO, IYAKE, ESEKAIKU, IYA MARE, IGBORO, OBANYIRA, ODUA, IGBO IFA, IGBODU, OBALUFON, ISHATA, ABAA, IHOLADEBO, IGBO SANGO, IHO EGBE.

No século 16, o rei Alado de Ado-Awaye chamado Oba Obakoyi introduziu Ifa ao Alaafin Ofiran, filho do falecido Alaafin Onigbogi.

Alaafin Onigbogi era um dos filhos do Oba Oluaso e de uma mulher de Otta, que aconselhou seu filho a reconhecer oficialmente a nova arte de adivinhação chamada Ifa no Império Oyo, mas ele rejeitou porque não queriam adorar nozes de palmeira.

Os seguidores de Ifa desiludidos voltaram para Otta, atravessando Ado e relataram toda a história sobre a decisão de Oyo para Alado, que aceitou ser iniciado em Ifa, e que mais tarde introduziu ao novo Alaafin Ofiran que reconheceu oficialmente esta nova arte de adivinhação no Império Oyo.

Esta nova arte de adivinhação foi introduzida durante a invasão muçulmana por um homem chamado Setilu conhecido como Agbo-niregun, nativo de Nupe, que era cego. Setilu saiu de sua cidade e atravessou o rio Níger e foi a Benin para um lugar chamado Owo, migrando de cidade para cidade, iniciando vários de seus seguidores nos novos mistérios e arte de adivinhação até que esta foi oficialmente aceite e reconhecida pelo Alaafin entre os Orisas na terra.”

Pelo novo Alado de Ado-Awaye, Alayeluwa Oba Ademola Olugbile Folakanmi, coroado em 21 de julho de 2017 pelo The Alaafin of Oyo.

The 16 shrines Hill / Ifa & Alaafin / Iyake the suspended Lake

“ADO hill was founded around 1500 AD by an Oyo Prince named Obakoyi. Ado-Awaye is one of the ancient towns in Ekun Otun Province of the old Oyo Empire.

The Ado Hill is unique for having the only suspended lake in Africa. This hanging lake is known as ‘Iyake’ and there are 16 natural shrines at Ado Hill being worship by various people. 

The 16 shrines are called ISAGE, IYALARO, IYAKE, ESEKAIKU, IYA MARE, IGBORO, OBANYIRA, ODUA, IGBO IFA, IGBODU, OBALUFON, ISHATA, ABAA, IHOLADEBO, IGBO SANGO, IHO EGBE.

In the 16 century, The king Alado of Ado-Awaye called Oba Obakoyi introduced Ifa to the Alaafin Ofiran, son of the late Alaafin Onigbogi.

Alaafin Onigbogi was a son of the late Oluaso and of a woman from Otta, who advised his son to introduce officially the new divination art called Ifa into the Oyo Empire, but it was rejected because they didn’t want to worship palm nuts. The followers of Ifa disappointed and on their way back to Otta, they crossed through Ado and reported the all story about Oyo decision to Alado, who accepted to be initiated into Ifa and later introduced it to the new Alaafin Ofiran who officially recognized this new divination art in the Oyo Empire. 

This new divination art was introduced during the Mohammedan invasion by a man called Setilu known as Agbo-niregun, native of Nupe, who was blind. Setilu left his town and crossed the river Niger and went to Benin to a place called Owo, migrating from town to town, initiating several of his followers in the new mysteries and art of divination until it became officially accepted and recognized by the Alaafin among the Orisas in the land. “
